January 2011-Through a grant from the Granville
County Arts Council, I was able to teach the fourth grade
classes of West Oxford School about pottery. They
learned some of the history of how pottery became the
"Art of the State" They watched a throwing demonstration
and participatedin a handbuilding project.
April 2011-This vase was donated to the Granville
Education Foundation for their yearly auction and
fundraiser. It brought $1600!!!! (I know where you can
get a really good deal on a similar one!!!)
January 2010- Through a grant from the
Granville Education Foundation I taught the 4th grade
classes at West Oxford School about pottery.
March 2010 - Stoval Shaw School
2011- I am currently mentoring Laurin Rainey from
Kerr Vance Academy. She picked pottery as her
senior project.
2009- West Oxford School and Stovall Shaw Schools.
